Many seniors and individuals with disabilities are unable to perform basic lawn care so United Way is asking you to help our neighbors this fall! We are putting the call out for volunteers to help with raking leaves across our community at the end of October and in early November! This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that makes a huge impact for local households.
Businesses, families, civic organizations, military personnel, student groups, and friends are encouraged to form teams to help. Teams can be 3 people up to as many as you like! Your team will be given two or three addresses and a list of outdoor tasks that have been requested. Volunteers are instructed not to enter homes even if requested.
Please consider volunteering and helping to recruit a team of coworkers, students, family members and friends to help with Day of Caring. You can select the date that works best for you close to the main day of Oct. 31 and United Way will coordinate with the individuals receiving the services. We can also provide rakes and leaf bags if you need them.
Don’t have a team but would like to volunteer individually? We will organize individual volunteers into teams on Friday, Oct 31. Wear a costume if you’d like and celebrate Halloween by helping others.
